Q: What kind of ID do I need to register? A: This is the unique ID of your copy of the game. You
can find it in "Register" box.
Q: When I enter the regcode and press "Register" nothing
happens... A: Simply press "OK". Pressing "Register" will launch
your browser and send you to the registration page.
Q: I use Windows XP and am
unable to play. The screen turns black and the graphics get
corrupted. A: You encounter a rare XP bug. Here is a solution invented
by our customer, Penny Johnson:"I solved the problems myself
by going to my desktop, alive! Jigsaw's property, I went to
compatibility at the top right of properties, don't check run
in 256, or 640 x 480 screen resolutions color or compatibility,
instead check display settings and click on disable visual theme.
This won't effect any other programs and it solved the problem."
Q: I can't see animation in some pictures, though I
know it is there! A: You need a MPEG4 codec installed on your PC to view MPEG4
animations. As far as we know, you can get one of freeware codecs at
http://www.divx.com but you can use
any other MPEG4 codec as well.
Q: How can I add my own avi files? A: Just copy them in the folder where you have Alive!
Jigsaw (by default it is C:\Windows\Application Data\Alive!Jigsaw\).
Q: Where can I get those avi files? A: They come together with many multimedia products and
"big" games on CDs.
Q: What is the use of having animations as jigsaws?
A: It makes the number ov availiable jigsaws virtually
unlimited. Yes, in the short sample animations the frames don't
differ from each other very much, but you can use any animations
and videos, no matter how long they are, with a variety of different
scenes.
Q: I downloaded free puzzles from your web-site. How can I make them available in the game? A: Puzzles that are .yav (i.e. animated puzzles) should be copied to the
game folder (C:\Windows\Application Data\Alive!Jigsaw\ by default)
to be available in the game. Downloads that are .exe files are
self-extracting archives (to speed-up the download) and should be
copied into the game folder and executed from here.
Q: Can I use MPEG videos? A: Yes, you can. The game supports EMF and WMF formats as well.
Q: Do you have any other games? A: Yes, you can see the complete list here.
